Chris is an elected fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and one of the firm’s most experienced trial attorneys. He has represented clients across a broad range of industries in a wide variety of highly sensitive and bet-the-company matters throughout his three decades of practice.

Chris is also consistently recognized as one of the preeminent attorneys in Ohio for professional responsibility and legal ethics issues, including earning distinction from The Best Lawyers in America as the “Lawyer of the Year” in Columbus for related matters.

He served as Kegler Brown’s managing director from 2016 to 2024.

Litigation

Chris represents clients in all aspects of commercial and personal injury litigation in both state and federal courts.

Ethics + Professional Responsibility

Chris also advises clients on professional responsibility and legal ethics issues, including the ethical obligations under Ohio’s Rules of Professional Conduct. Chris represents clients in disciplinary proceedings before the Board of Professional Conduct and the Ohio Supreme Court.

Kegler Brown's annual seminar on professional responsibility was presented on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Columbus Bar Association (CBA). This year's guest speaker featured Kent Markus, Bar and General Counsel at the CBA, where he showcased a visual disciplinary flowchart, various bar rules, and practical tips and best practices.A panel discussion Q+A about identifying issues, the duty to report, advisory opinions, and recent ethic developments were among a few of the topics covered by Kegler Brown litigators, Jane Gleaves and Jason Beehler. Moderator, Chris Weber, discussed topics ranging from specific ethical requirements, pitfalls to avoid, and his recommendations for best practices.

Capital University Law School Professional Responsibility Seminar

Taking place at Capital University Law School on April 5, a team of Kegler Brown attorneys presented on multiple topics related to professional conduct and responsibility.Chris Weber discussed avoiding malpractice and gave practical guidance on ethical issues that lawyers face every day in their practice. He gave tips on how to properly navigate these ethical issues in order to both improve client relationships and lead to a better night’s sleep.Jane Gleaves highlighted the disciplinary system by giving a review of recent notable ethics opinions in Ohio and explained their potential implications.Jason Beehler discussed ethical dangers through a transactional lens and talked about practical issues for transactional lawyers, such as candor to third parties and attorney-client privilege in deal documents.
