Kegler Brown has welcomed former Summer Associates Joey Okeke, Justin Rink, and Mikenna Cimini as the firm’s newest attorneys after they successfully passed the Ohio Bar Exam.

“We’re proud to have Joey, Justin, and Mikenna begin their legal careers as part of the Kegler Brown team,” said the firm’s Managing Director, Steve Barsotti, “We’ve had the privilege of working with them as they grew from law students into young attorneys, and we look forward to helping them continue that growth while they build their practices, provide exceptional service to their clients, and make an impact in their communities.”

Joey joins Kegler Brown’s Corporate team, where he will focus on mergers and acquisitions and emerging businesses. In his practice, he assists entrepreneurs, growth-stage companies, and established businesses with formation and structuring, commercial agreements, corporate governance, and strategic transactions. Joey earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he also completed a judicial externship with Judge Elizabeth A. Preston Deaver of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He received his B.B.A. in finance and economics from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

Justin will focus his practice on real estate and finance, assisting developers, property owners, lenders, and investors with commercial real estate matters. His work includes acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, financing, and affordable housing projects. Justin earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School, summa cum laude, and his B.A. in political science from Denison University.

Mikenna joins the firm’s Litigation team, where she will focus on commercial litigation, assisting clients with complex business disputes, including breach of contract, trade secrets, tortious interference, and fiduciary duty matters. Mikenna earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Capital University Law School, where she served as Co-Chief Justice of the Moot Court Program and completed a judicial externship with Justice Jennifer Brunner of the Supreme Court of Ohio. She received her B.S. in criminology from Penn State University.

The addition of these three new associates continues the longstanding tradition of growth through the firm's Summer Associate program, which provides law students with hands-on experience working alongside attorneys on active client matters, mentorship across practice areas, and opportunities to explore different areas of practice.
