Originally passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on May 22, 2025, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (H.R. 1) represented a sweeping tax package that included substantial enhancements to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Signed into law on July 4, 2025, as Public Law 119-21, these changes mark the most significant expansion of the LIHTC Program since 2008 and are expected to drive a notable increase in affordable housing production nationwide.
