Kegler Brown Announces the Selection of Three New Directors

Kegler Brown is excited and proud to announce the selection of attorneys  Bill LevenduskyRachel Gold, and Steve Umaña, as firm directors.

Bill has been advising clients in the firm’s M+A, Real Estate, and Energy + Environment practice areas since joining Kegler Brown in 2016. He advises clients on a range of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, outside general counsel work, and the purchase, sale, and finance of real estate and other assets. Bill also advises a major telecommunications services provider on title and leasing issues. Prior to joining Kegler Brown, Bill worked in the energy industry, advising his clients on matters related to leasing, acquisition, and disposition of assets related to both traditional and emerging energy technologies. Bill earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2011 and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in 2008.

Rachel, who began her career in the firm’s summer clerkship program in 2014, has already built an extensive practice advising clients on real estate, medical marijuana, and corporate law matters. She advises clients on a range of topics, including commercial leasing, the purchase and sale of real estate, and regulatory compliance for medical marijuana licensees. She has also been instrumental in developing Kegler Brown’s Medical Marijuana practice area, assisting clients in the application process with compliance issues and on-going corporate structuring needs, while navigating Ohio’s complex regulations for businesses operating in the medical marijuana space. Rachel serves on the board of Beth Jacob Congregation, the board of The Columbus Jewish Historical Society, and is an active member in Together with Important Goals (TWIG), which supports Nationwide Children’s Hospital with its fundraising projects. Rachel has been selected to the “Ones to Watch” list by Best Lawyers since 2021. Rachel earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2015 after receiving a B.S. from Indiana University in 2012.

Steve has been a key member of the firm’s Real Estate + Finance practice area since joining Kegler Brown in 2019. His practice includes advising investors, developers, and lenders in real estate and debt finance-based transactions, and clients involved in the acquisition, sale, and financing of multifamily apartment complexes, commercial property, and affordable housing projects. Steve also serves as a mentor to many of our younger attorneys working in these practice areas. He has been selected to the “Ones to Watch” list by Best Lawyers since 2021 and was selected to the 2021 “Ohio Rising Star” list by Super Lawyers. Steve received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2015, having previously earned a B.S.B.A. with a specialization in accounting from The Ohio State University in 2012.
