Rob is one of the firm’s most experienced trial attorneys and has spent much of his career litigating a broad spectrum of highly sensitive disputes with complex public reputation implications for his clients.
He also frequently assists public and private sector organizations in navigating litigation related to personal injury, commercial contracts, insurance coverage, partnership dissolutions, licensing disputes, and matters arising from M+A transactions. Further, Rob serves as chair emeritus of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice and represents clients in infringement actions in trial courts in Ohio and throughout the United States and in various proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Complex Litigation
Rob has successfully represented numerous clients in complex litigation matters, often working with organizations facing serious allegations of wrongdoing in highly sensitive matters, including public relations considerations. His experience includes personal injury claims, patent, copyright and trademark infringement actions, litigating partnership dissolutions, managing Walker Process antitrust claims, trade secret misappropriations, and rights to post transaction earn-outs. His representative clients range from Fortune 500 companies to local manufacturers and non-profit organizations.
Insurance Coverage Litigation
Rob currently represents a national insurance company in its insurance coverage cases in Ohio. His experience in this area includes successfully arguing before the Ohio Supreme Court.
Intellectual Property Protection
Rob advises clients in safeguarding their intellectual property, including securing trademark and copyright registrations, implementing procedures to protect trade secrets, and assisting clients in the negotiation and drafting of intellectual property licenses. He has experience representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in opposition, cancellation, and concurrent use proceedings, and assists clients in registering trademarks both domestically and internationally through the Madrid Protocol.
