On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Ohio voters will go to the polls to nominate candidates from either major political party for the November General Election ballot. While polls will be open that day between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., early voting has already begun, and absentee ballot applications must be received by the county board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on March 12th. Completed absentee ballots must be received by boards of election by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, March 19th. Ballots cannot be turned in at polling places on Election Day but can be returned to county board offices in person on Election Day.

In this primary election, Ohio voters will have the opportunity to declare a party affiliation and nominate candidates from their preferred party to appear on the general election ballot for the following races: U.S. President, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Ohio Supreme Court Associate Justices, Ohio Court of Appeals, Ohio Senate, and Ohio Representative.
