Lesley is a core member of the firm’s Global Education team, having spent over a decade in the global education space. Relying on her depth and breadth of experience, she assists our college and university clients through the most complex and sensitive aspects of operating abroad and directly contributes to their success with her expertise and knowledge.

With her ability to guide clients through matters related to entity formation and management, overseas operations, contract negotiation, data privacy, and more, Lesley serves as a trusted strategic advisor to both domestic and cross-border clients.

Global Education

Lesley takes a practical approach to helping our global education clients and other entities operating overseas navigate cross-border legal and cultural differences. Deeply experienced in international operations, she has assisted in launching and managing international educational programs in 18 countries while spending more than a decade in-house at a leading cross-border educational non-profit. In this role, Lesley took the lead on a wide variety of matters related to international law, including contract negotiation, data privacy, entity creation and maintenance, litigation management, crisis response, and more, developing a broad range of firsthand experience that helps her prepare our clients for what they may encounter when operating abroad or partnering with overseas entities.

Privacy + Data Responsibility

Lesley provides our clients with advice related to a variety of international data privacy concerns, including GDPR, Australia’s Education Services for Overseas Students Act (ESOS), UK’s Data Protection Act, China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), and more. She also assists clients with foreign policy and data concerns related to establishing study abroad programs and the creation of notice and consent forms and data processing agreements.

Global Business + Employment

Lesley’s cross-border experience includes addressing student discipline matters, managing international labor and employment disputes, and conducting sexual misconduct investigations. Her broad experience in contract creation and negotiation also allows her to assist our business clients in any number of transactional matters, such as establishing joint ventures or licensing agreements.
