Ohio Statehouse Advocacy 101
Sheila Boehner presented on Statehouse Advocacy during a Webinar hosted by Enterprise Community Partners. The audience was primarily directed at other regional community development partners with a focus on Housing issues, as invited by the host.
A Lawyer Lobbyist and member of the Kegler, Brown, Hill + Ritter Government Affairs Team, Sheila discussed some of the Housing “wins” in the recently passed Ohio State Operating Budget, explained the budget process, and discussed what to expect in meetings with members of the legislature so as to make the most out of those meetings.
Sheila combined her experience working in the Ohio Legislature for several years with her more recent experience “on the other side of the desk” to craft helpful, practical advice for successful communication with policy makers.
