Steve focuses his multifaceted practice in the firm’s real estate and finance areas. He joined Kegler Brown in 2019.

Real Estate Finance + Development

Steve advises investors, developers and lenders in a wide variety of real estate and debt finance based transactions. His real estate practice is primarily focused around acquisitions, dispositions and financings of multifamily apartment complexes, commercial buildings and affordable housing developments, and his debt finance practice is primarily focused around construction loans, permanent loans, revolving lines of credit and various other credit facilities. He also guides developers and non-profits through the various stages of acquiring and financing affordable housing and taking advantage of the low income housing tax credit program, and works directly with a number of state and federal agencies in doing so. In his representation of these clients, Steve will draft, negotiate and interpret definitive documents including purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, loan documents, conveyance documents, security instruments, legal opinions, closing documents and commercial leases. Steve also provides counsel to both borrowers and banks on a variety of real estate due diligence matters involving title insurance, surveys, environmental matters and various pieces of corporate due diligence.
