As part of our 2019 Managing Labor + Employee Seminar on March 5, Jane spoke on the importance of effective documentation, especially given the likelihood of litigation after an employee’s termination. She looked at best practices related to at-will employment and reasons an employer cannot terminate an employee, and burden of proof for terminations with cause. Jane also showcased the importance of not only documentation, but also having and following proper policies and procedures, for defending and proving nondiscriminatory reasons for termination.
