New I-9 Forms Required May 7

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued a new I-9 form that employers are to use to verify a new employee’s identity and eligibility to work. The new form has a notation of “Rev. 03/08/13 N” at the bottom left of the page and is available at the USCIS website. Employers can use the new form immediately, but are required to use it beginning May 7, 2013.

Employers do not have to prepare a new form for current employees who already have a proper I-9 form on file.
