Despite regulations, internet cafes tweak games, fly under the radar

Columbus Dispatch

The Columbus Dispatch interviewed Mike Zatezalo as part of their article on recent critical attention being given to Central Ohio’s internet cafes, often a source of illegal gambling complaints, asking him why cafes continue to fly under the radar.

From the article:

“Prosecutors don’t seem to consider the cafes a priority, said Columbus attorney Mike Zatezalo, a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, a nonprofit association of gaming attorneys and other industry professionals.’

‘A lot of people don’t look at this as a serious crime,’ Zatezalo said. ‘When you have limited resources, you are going to go after the most pressing issues, and maybe somebody running a cafe down the street that nobody cares about is not one of them.’”
