Kegler Brown Selects Diversity + Inclusion Committee Co-Chairs

Kegler Brown is excited to announce that Apps Akpofure and Molly Werhan will serve as Co-Chairs of the firm’s Diversity + Inclusion Committee.

Apps joined Kegler Brown in 2015 and focuses his corporate law practice primarily in the areas of emerging business, real estate, and global business. As part of his real estate practice, Apps guides individual and corporate clients throughout the entire process of purchasing or selling affordable multifamily properties, providing counsel on all aspects of conventional, tax credit and HUD-insured financing and refinancing.

Molly has been a member of the firm’s Corporate and M+A practice since 2016 and provides counsel to business owners and entrepreneurs during every stage of the business life cycle, from entity formation to exit strategies. She advises companies on a wide range of matters, from negotiating ownership agreements and complex commercial contracts to growth strategies such as capital raising, joint ventures, acquisitions, and franchising.

Both clerked for Kegler Brown during law school as part of the firm’s Summer Associate program.

“We are excited to have Molly and Apps developing and executing strategies focused toward our culture of respect,” said Chris Weber, Kegler Brown’s Managing Director. “They will be utilizing the unique perspectives, styles, talents and ideas that we all bring to the table to deliver outstanding client service and achieve our firm’s goals.”

The Kegler Brown Diversity + Inclusion Committee aims to create an environment that reflects the diversity of culture, thought, and background of the community in which we work and live. We strive to foster an inclusive culture where every person is empowered to freely share their ideas, experiences, and beliefs, and to be a place where every member of the firm has a deep sense of pride, passion, and belonging.
