Kegler Brown Practice Chair is New Director

Kegler Brown is proud to announce the selection of David Wilson as a firm director.

David is a founder and chair of the firm’s Privacy + Data Security practice and has provided guidance on all aspects of data security issues, developed and conducted data security training programs, crafted strategies for international compliance with guidelines such as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and has presented regularly at seminars, conferences and other events.

David has also focused his practice in the areas of global business, intellectual property, and U.S. and global regulatory compliance. Before joining the firm in 2011, David lived in São Paulo and worked in a Brazilian law firm. As part of his global business practice, David advises businesses in acquisition transactions and assists with commercializing and safeguarding intellectual property through the negotiation of licenses and commercial agreements.

David earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2010 and graduated from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business with his M.B.A. in 2011. In 2016, he became a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), an ANSI-accredited designation through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Previously, David served in the United States Army Special Operations Command, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, SSG, and receiving the Army Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguished “V” device for Valor during his service in Afghanistan. David lives in Scioto Pointe with his wife, Lauren, and son, Dean.
