Kegler Brown Continues to be Honored among “Top International Law Firms” by IBLJ

Kegler Brown continues to be identified by India Business Law Journal as a 2022 "Law Firm to Watch" for its significant India-related work in the past year. This award, which was bestowed on the firm alongside 17 other international firms (including Akin Gump, Alston & Bird, Fenwick & West, and Orrick), recognizes firms that provide Indian clients with access to multi-jurisdictional services, offer broad practice area expertise, have worked to develop niche knowledge, boast strong capabilities across specific industries, and create regional networks to assist India-connected clients with contentious and non-contentious needs.

This year, the Journal highlighted that the firm’s Global Business practice, led by dual-licensed Indian attorney Vinita Mehra, offers a unique proposition to clients rooted in her knowledge of business and cultural practices in both India and the American Midwest. The publication asserts that “Kegler Brown’s skills at navigating corporate, IP, finance and employment issues have propelled clients from the healthcare, technology, software, education and big data industries to return time and again.” The publication also noted that “the firm is currently assisting Crimson Cup, a producer of organic, direct trade gourmet coffee beans roasted daily in Columbus, Ohio, on a global franchise strategy for the coffee salon business in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the UAE.”

Heena Shah, chief people officer at MES, reported to the Journal that “Vinita has always been very clear, precise, and detailed with her communication. Kegler Brown’s services are very concise, insightful, and very accommodating toward our long-term goals. They have a good understanding of global businesses, and especially Indian businesses. They have helped us expand globally, register entities, and have contracts and agreements in nine countries. We use them exclusively.”

For the past 16 years, India Business Law Journal has been researching and compiling a report of India-related accomplishments and undertakings of law firms around the world. The report draws on an analysis of more than 600 law firms from every continent that have recorded deals and disputes with an Indian connection in the past 12 months. The results are based on meticulous research, vast editorial experience and extensive consultation with corporate counsel and Indian law firms.
