Kegler Brown Attorney Honored in Forty Under 40

Columbus Business First has announced its 2017 Forty Under 40 class, and Victoria Beckman, a member of Kegler Brown’s litigation team, made the list.

This year the program received a record 283 nominations. The final forty chosen from these nominations were judged on four criteria: reason for nomination, career achievements, community involvement, and awards & recognition. Nominees were also encouraged to submit letters of support.

Victoria received letters from colleagues and clients in support of her nomination. One such letter described her as “the most tenacious and determined person I have met.”

Another letter focused on her “capabilities and lifelong pursuit of excellence” and her commitment to the community by drawing attention to the fact that “Victoria has never been one to sit by when she sees a need.”

Earlier this year, Victoria was also honored by the Hispanic National Bar Association as a recipient of their 2017 Top Lawyers Under 40 Award.

Victoria focuses in the firm’s litigation, data + privacy, and global practices with an emphasis on Latin America. Her fluency in Spanish, unique background and work experience allow her to help clients navigate through transnational disputes and issues of foreign law. Before relocating to Ohio with her family, Victoria spent years as a public defender in Arizona, first assigned to capital habeas appeals and later trying major felony cases. Prior to practicing law, she was an industrial engineer in the technology and automotive sectors and a competitive figure skater.

The Columbus Business First Forty Under 40 program highlights Central Ohio’s best and brightest young professionals and will recognize them at an awards ceremony on Thursday, May 25, at the Hollywood Casino Columbus.
