Jacob Dobres Joins Kegler Brown as Director, Enhancing Firm’s Litigation, Employment, and Workers’ Compensation Practice

Jacob Dobres has joined Kegler Brown as a director, bringing extensive expertise in litigation, labor and employment law, and workers' compensation defense to the firm.

With a robust background spanning more than two decades, Jacob specializes in managing complex workers' compensation claims and litigation for a diverse clientele, from local family businesses to multinational corporations. His experience includes significant trial and appellate work, advocating for employers before administrative bodies, such as the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio.

In addition to his experience in workers' compensation defense, Jacob advises clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including those related to USERRA, FMLA, and compliance with evolving COVID-19 regulations. Throughout the pandemic, he guided employers in updating their policies and navigating new legal challenges, demonstrating proactive leadership through informational webinars and tailored client communications.

Jacob's litigation prowess extends to his role as author of numerous briefs for the Ohio Supreme Court and as first chair in trials across various jurisdictions. His practice encompasses civil litigation involving insurance defense, including claims related to automobile accidents, construction defects, professional liability, and wrongful death claims.

Jacob received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1999 and graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in 1995.
