Erin Herbst Appointed President of Columbus Bar Foundation for 2024-2025
September 24, 2024The Columbus Bar Foundation recently announced that Erin Herbst, a senior director at Kegler Brown in the firm’s M+A, Corporate + Securities areas, has been appointed President of the Columbus Bar Foundation for the 2024-2025 term.
Erin has long been a dedicated advocate for community service, legal excellence, and access to justice. As President, she will continue to guide the Foundation's mission to promote understanding of the law and enhance the role of the legal profession in advancing social good. Under her leadership, the Foundation will empower communities through education, outreach, and support for programs that ensure equal access to justice for all.
In addition to her legal acumen, Erin brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and civic engagement to this role. She has been an active member of the Columbus Bar Foundation since 2019, serving as Vice President, and now takes on the presidency, where she will continue her commitment to advancing the Foundation’s objectives.
“The Columbus Bar Foundation plays a critical role in strengthening our legal community and supporting those who need it most,” said Erin. “I’m deeply honored to lead the Foundation and continue working alongside our dedicated trustees and supporters to make a meaningful impact.”
Erin’s extensive contributions to the legal and nonprofit sectors include her roles on the Catholic Social Services Board of Trustees, where she has served since 2015, and as a former President of the Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Franklin County Board of Trustees, where she helped amplify the voices of abused and neglected children within the judicial system. Her philanthropic vision extends beyond the boardroom as she volunteers in local grassroots efforts, including the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic with Columbus Legal Aid and the United Way Cinquefoil Fellowship.
With a strong background in leadership and service, Erin is well-positioned to guide the Columbus Bar Foundation as it continues to support programs that educate and uplift the community. Her leadership will ensure that the Foundation remains at the forefront of efforts to increase understanding of the law and expand access to justice across Central Ohio.
