Director Picked to Serve as M+A Co-Chair

Kegler Brown is pleased to announce that Eric Duffee has been named co-chair of the firm’s Mergers + Acquisitions practice.

Eric has built an impressive and balanced business practice representing both established and growth-stage businesses throughout their lifecycles; from startup and formation to capital raising and sale. He has helped numerous companies navigate strategic expansion, and his ability to focus on his client’s needs and find creative solutions has helped him become a skilled and respected business adviser, especially on the complex legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Eric’s legal work has been honored with an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which recognizes lawyers for their “strong legal ability and high ethical standards for more than a century.” His M+A practice has also received recognition in the form of multiple appearances in Super Lawyers, most recently in 2018, where he is ranked as a “Rising Star.”

“Eric is an exceptionally knowledgeable and strategic lawyer,” said Todd Kegler, the area’s other co-chair, “He has been an essential member of numerous transactions for our clients, and our M+A practice will benefit greatly from his strong leadership.”

The firm’s M+A practice has also received industry praise. In its most recent appearance in Chambers USA, an annual publication ranking lawyers and law firms across the country, the practice area was described as having “notable areas of strength including midmarket M&A, private placements and corporate governance. Particular strength in matters pertaining to the education sector,” and an interviewed source stated “Kegler attorneys approach the problem as if they were part of your business. It is a very unique culture, and one of the main reasons I enjoy working with the team.”

Eric joined Kegler Brown in 2006 after working as a clerk in the firm’s summer associate program. He earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
