Managing Labor + Employee Relations Seminar

Employers today have more responsibility than ever of the management of their workplace. Establishing an effective employee relations program is crucial for managing your most valuable asset, your employees.

The annual Managing Labor + Employee Seminar will take place Tuesday, March 5, starting at 8:30 a.m. (registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.) and specifically addresses the issues facing employers.

The half-day seminar will provide information to better equip you in dealing with workplace management issues including managing employee technology access, preparing employees for Obamacare and the potential pitfalls of FSLA.

Come hungry! A hot breakfast will be served to all attendees.

Technology in the Workplace presented by Kailee Goold
As technology advances, it becomes extremely difficult to protect the company’s confidential information. Kailee will explore the laws that relate to electronic devices in the workplace and the risks and rewards of various approaches to handling technology in the workplace.

We are Never, Ever Getting Back Together presented by Jeffrey C. Miller
In every workplace employees need to be disciplined, and on occasion, terminated. Jeff will guide the audience and provide accurate ways to discipline employees in order to avoid legal pitfalls.

Obamacare: How to Better Prepare Your Company presented by Ralph Breitfeller
Ralph will present on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, and how President Obama’s re-election affects a company. He will present subject matter on preparing your employees for the new law. and will update the audience on the requirements that are in effect and those that will be coming in 2014.

Fair Labor Standard Act: Potential Pitfalls presented by Brendan Feheley
As the workplace evolves tracking employees’ time and correct compensation becomes increasingly difficult. Brendan will outline common mistakes employers make in compensating employees and provide tips to avoid violating the FLSA.
