Biography

With experience in estate and gift planning, trust administration, and business succession planning, Joe focuses on high-net-worth families and closely held or family-owned businesses, creating and managing individualized succession planning strategies and trusts that help ensure what his clients worked hard to earn is distributed when and where they want.

Estate Planning

Focusing on high-net-worth families, Joe helps clients with issues related to the transfer of wealth, including fundamental and advanced estate planning strategies and the drafting and administration of trusts in order to minimize federal gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes while protecting the assets for the family. Joe also advises and assists clients with modifications to existing plans, including irrevocable trusts, to capitalize on opportunities due to changing circumstances and tax laws.

Business Succession

Joe’s experience with tax compliance, especially related to income and transfer taxes, helps him structure and implement succession plans that let clients pass on ownership of private, closely held businesses from one generation to another in a manner that minimizes the impact of that transfer.
