Corporate Law + Emerging Business
Apps advises clients in the beginning stages of developing a business with matters such as tax structuring, economic incentives, company + fundraising structuring. He also helps well-established businesses with issues such as franchising, licensing agreements, and corporate governance.
Apps has extensive experience assisting restaurants and breweries by negotiating and drafting distribution agreements, as well as registering for and maintaining all necessary federal and state licenses and permits.
Apps guides individual and corporate clients throughout the entire process of purchasing or selling affordable multifamily properties, providing counsel on all aspects of conventional, tax credit and HUD-insured financing and refinancing. He advises clients in the structuring and negotiation of new investments and other complex financings, such as projects involving public/private partnerships or mixed financing sources (conventional financing, tax credits and bonds).
Being dedicated to helping companies achieve business goals on an international level, Apps helps assist with companies based in the U.S. and abroad in acquiring and selling assets and business units internationally, helps assist businesses in complying with applicable domestic and foreign regulations that govern international trade and helps counsel our U.S. and global clients on joint ventures and strategic alliances across multiple industries.
Apps also works with our globalization of education team to assist public and private colleges and universities wanting to explore the global market or looking to expand their current international operations. This assistance includes addressing cultural implications, tax counseling, regulatory compliance and education funding issues and much more.
