Ohio Minimum Wage Hike

Kegler Brown E-mployment Alert

The federal minimum wage level is $7.25 per hour. But remember that the minimum wage mandated by State law is indexed and will increase according to the Consumer Price Index, which increased a little more than 1% last year. As a result, Ohio’s minimum wage (which applies to employers that gross $271,000 or more per year) will increase in 2011:

  • The minimum wage will increase from $7.30 per hour to $7.40 per hour.
  • Tipped employees’ minimum hourly wage will increase to $3.70 per hour.
