OHIP Press Announcement

by Jeff Porter

There has been a substantial development in health information exchange in Ohio. CliniSync, Ohio’s statewide health information exchange, has announced that Ohio is the first state in the nation to exchange health information across state lines via direct secure messaging. The Ohio Health Information Partnership has announced that the first instance of interstate direct messaging took place on December 1, 2011, between physician’s offices in northwest Ohio and Biloxi, Mississippi. Ohio’s CliniSync system connected with the Mississippi Health Information Network and a live exchange took place between the physicians’ office staff. The full press release from CliniSync can be viewed here.
