2009 Minority Merit Scholarship Recipient

The law firm of Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter (Kegler Brown) is pleased to announce that Jessica Kim has been honored as this year's recipient of the firm's sixth annual minority merit scholarship. Kim will enter her second year at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law this coming fall. As part of the merit scholarship, Kim will spend the 2009 summer months as a clerk with Kegler Brown.

"The scholarship program helps us to attract and retain excellent minority law students and it assists students financially with their legal education," said the firm's managing director, Mike Zatezalo. "We are pleased to offer this opportunity as part of Kegler Brown's ongoing commitment to diversity."

Kim is currently attending The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She maintains memberships in the Real Estate Law Association, the International Law Society and the Public Interest Law Foundation. Prior to beginning law school, Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in global development from Miami University (Oxford, OH).

2009 marks the sixth year for the Kegler Brown Minority Merit Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a minority law student based on academic performance, accomplishments, activities and potential contributions to the legal community. Kegler Brown maintains an internal diversity committee to formalize and further the firm's commitment to achieving racial and gender diversity at all levels of the organization. A combined subgroup of the diversity and recruiting committees also is in place and is charged with setting and accomplishing goals relating to increased racial diversity. Kegler Brown is also a founding member of the Columbus Bar Association’s Minority Clerkship program and a signatory of the CBA Diversity Initiative, which has made great strides in transforming the racial demographics in the Central Ohio legal community.
