Governor Honors Firm as an Exporting Leader

Kegler Brown is proud to announce it has been selected once again by Governor Ted Strickland and the Ohio Department of Development as one of the exporting leaders in the state of Ohio for 2009. The firm was selected for this honor because of the strength of its international practice, led by attorney Martijn Steger. Under Steger's leadership, Kegler Brown has served as international legal counsel to some of Ohio's top exporters for nearly 20 years, partnering with clients doing business in industries like health information technology, pharmaceuticals, transportation/logistics, plastics manufacturing, high technology products, consumer products, educational services, food services, real estate, architecture, engineering, construction, telecommunications, marketing and communications services and others. Firm clients regularly do business in all major markets around the world, including India, Europe, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific Rim, and Africa and the Middle East.

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland yesterday recognized the contributions of Kegler Brown and 26 other Ohio export leaders at the Ohio Global Summit, an event sharing successful strategies for global trade by Ohio-based international business experts, including Kegler Brown's Vinita Mehra, who spoke on preparing effective contracts in India. Dually-licensed in the U.S and India, Vinita is uniquely qualified to advise U.S. companies on issues arising under laws of India and assists U.S. companies undertaking new or expanded business operations in India.

This year marks the second time since 2005 that Kegler Brown has been honored as an exporting leader by the Ohio governor, making the firm the legal industry's only two-time honoree in the 22-year history of the program.
