Marotta Selected to AHIC Planning Group

Marotta, Robert headshot The law firm of Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter is proud to announce the selection of attorney Robert D. Marotta as a member of the American Health Information Community (AHIC) Successor Business Sustainability Planning Group. AHIC, currently a national government advisory group charged with making recommendations to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on how to accelerate the development and adoption of health information technology, is being transitioned to a public-private organization. The Department of Health and Human Services and several private organizations are convening interested stakeholders and thought leaders (of which Marotta is one) to transform the nationwide focal point for health information interoperability to this public-private organization.

Marotta, Of Counsel with Kegler Brown, has been practicing law for more than 30 years. His practice focuses on the regulation of health care delivery systems, with a specific emphasis on pharmacy, medicine and information technology and its regulation at the state and federal levels. He also currently serves as Senior Vice-President and Chief Regulatory Counsel of HLTH Corporation, a public company and the parent organization of WebMD Health Corp., another public company.

Marotta is a resident of Franklin County (43221) and is active in many civic and charitable endeavors, particularly those that provide educational opportunities for deserving students at both the secondary school and college levels. He currently serves on the board of trustees of Ohio Northern University and on the advisory council of the University of Notre Dame's College of Arts & Letters. Marotta also serves on the board of directors of the eHealth Initiative.
