David M. Wilson focuses his practice on international business matters with an emphasis on helping US companies do business in Brazil and Brazilian companies do business in the US. David has assisted companies in the manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries with international joint ventures, import/export matters, sales and distribution agreements, output contracts, and lease agreements. Well-versed in working with businesses of all sizes, from small entrepreneurs to large entities, David also specializes in securing funding sources and developing contracts both in the US and internationally. Having worked closely with both startups and non-profits he understands the importance of access to capital. David is currently leveraging this experience as he works closely with legislators and leaders to improve the legal structure surrounding these issues.

David’s international experience is rooted in extensive economic and business education and international work while living in Brazil. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Moritz College of Law and completed his MBA at the Fisher College of Business. David’s business and legal skills are enhanced by more than a decade of experience working in financial services and real-estate and the wealth of strategic and tactical knowledge he developed during his eight years of service in the United States Army Special Operations Command. David joined the firm in 2011.

International Business

David brings cross-border experience to the firm and acts as both an in-house representative and as external counsel to businesses of all sizes – from solo entrepreneurs to large-scale entities.His experience includes legal matters involved with business formation and structuring, contract negotiation and drafting, regulatory compliance and preparation for US and foreign corporate filings.  David is particularly versed in efficiently navigating Brazilian regulatory agencies including the International Trade Secretary (SECEX), the Federal Importer System (SICOMEX), the Brazilian Federal Internal Revenue Service (SRF), and the National Sanitary Vigilance Agency (ANVISA) – a division of the Brazilian ministry of health.
