Kegler Brown Launches Mediation Practice

Firm now offering mediation and dispute resolution services

March 7, 2006

The law firm of Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter is proud to announce the launch of Kegler Brown Mediation Services. The new practice area will offer both corporate clients and individuals an effective alternative to costly litigation. Kegler Brown mediation services aims to help the parties of a dispute achieve resolution in a cost-effective manner and to assist the parties in returning to normal business operations.

Litigation is continuing to become more costly and time consuming, and thus, companies, organizations and individuals are looking to mediation and other alternative dispute resolution techniques as a way of practically resolving their differences. During the mediation process, mediators act as neutral third parties, assisting participants in reaching a mutual agreement.

A number of Kegler Brown attorneys have undergone extensive training to become certified as mediators. These mediators have been educated through the Institute for Conflict Management (ICM) (www.adradvantage.com). The ICM certification program includes 40 hours of mediation training designed to prepare mediators to hear disputes within their industry of expertise.

Kegler Brown provides mediation services for a full-range of cases, including commercial disputes; construction disputes; creditors' rights and bankruptcy; employment; environmental penalties; government-related litigation and regulatory matters; intellectual property; international law; personal injury and wrongful death; probate and family succession; real estate and land use.

In addition, Kegler Brown continues to offer arbitration services to the construction area, as the firm has done for many years. Donald W. Gregory, who chairs Kegler Brown's construction and litigation practices, has been actively involved as a third party neutral in ADR procedures on complex construction projects, including mediation and arbitration.
