Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter is pleased to announce the promotion of Loriann E. Fuhrer to a director of the firm. Fuhrer joined Kegler Brown in 1998 as an associate in the litigation area. Since then, she has been a valuable asset, working to advocate for Kegler Brown clients throughout state and federal courts.
Fuhrer's practice consists of trial work focusing on business litigation, employment litigation, appeals and federally-assisted housing law. She is admitted to practice in Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
Fuhrer is a 1997 honors graduate of the Ohio State University College of Law. She also holds a master's degree in English from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. In addition, Fuhrer earned an undergraduate degree in English from Mount Union College, in Alliance, Ohio, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Prior to joining Kegler Brown, Fuhrer served as a as law clerk to the Honorable David A. Nelson, in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In 2005, Fuhrer was selected as a 2005 "Ohio Rising Star" by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine, a publication which recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state. The nominations for Ohio Rising Stars are based on voting by individuals previously identified as "Ohio Super Lawyers." Ohio Super Lawyers are said to represent the top 5 percent of the legal profession.
Active in several community and professional organizations, Fuhrer
is a member of 1000 Friends of Central Ohio, the Ohio Ecological
Food and Farm Association, and serves on the board of directors
for Spencer Recovery Programs. In addition, she is a member of the
American, Federal, Columbus and Ohio State Bar Associations.
