Kegler Brown is proud to announce that Amanda Holzhauer is the second recipient of the firm's annual minority merit scholarship. Holzhauer will enter her second year at the University of Michigan School of Law in Ann Arbor this coming fall. As part of the merit scholarship, Holzhauer will spend the summer months as a clerk at Kegler Brown, working with the firm's first-year summer associate class.
Prior to beginning law school, Holzhauer earned an undergraduate degree in archaeological studies from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. While at Yale, Holzhauer was a member of the school's women's rugby football club. She also spent time in Egypt, serving as a student dig supervisor during the excavation of a temple foundation.
The Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter Minority Merit Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving minority law student based on academic performance, accomplishments, activities, and potential contributions to the legal community. All first-year minority law students of African-American, Asian American, American Indian or Hispanic descent are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
