Buenaventura named first recipient of annual award

Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter is proud to announce that M. Angela Buenaventura is the first recipient of the firm's annual minority merit scholarship. Buenaventura will enter her second year at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois this coming fall. As part of the merit scholarship, Buenaventura will spend the summer months as a clerk at Kegler Brown, working with the firm's first-year summer associate class.
Prior to beginning law school, Buenaventura was a docketing clerk with the intellectual property firm of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, in Chicago, Illinois. She holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. Buenaventura graduated summa cum laude from Oglethorpe and was the recipient of two merit-based scholarships.
The Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter Minority Merit Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving minority law student based on academic performance, accomplishments, activities, and potential contributions to the legal community. All first-year minority law students of African-American, Asian American, American Indian or Hispanic descent are eligible to be considered for the scholarship. Minority students from Case Western Reserve University College of Law, University of Cincinnati College of Law, Capital University Law School, Northwestern University School of Law, The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, University of Michigan Law School, and Vanderbilt University Law School are considered for the merit scholarship.
