Join the Employee Relations team at Kegler Brown for the much-anticipated annual Managing Labor + Employee Relations Seminar on Tuesday, March 7. The half-day seminar, held at the Fawcett Center, will begin at 8:30 a.m. and provide valuable information and best practices for business owners and professionals in human resources and employment law.

This year’s seminar will discuss the following valuable and timely topics: a review of 2016 and preview of 2017, tips to survive an OSHA inspection; identifying exempt v. nonexempt employees; and tips on FMLA leave.

A hot breakfast will be served to all attendees.

8:00 a.m.: Registration, breakfast + networking

8:30 a.m.: 2017 – A Retrospective Prediction; Larry Feheley

Larry will discuss recent developments in legal issues that have arisen in the past year and then will preview what can be expected in 2017.

9:15 a.m.: Help! I've Fallen + I Can't Get Comp; Dave McCarty

Dave will provide the audience with a presentation on workers comp claims and when it’s necessary to call outside counsel.

9:55 a.m.: How to Survive an OSHA Inspection; Timothy A. Kelley

In light of the latest OSHA regulatory changes, Tim will be presenting on those changes and how audience members can safely survive an inspection.

10:40 a.m.: Break

10:50 a.m.: FLSA Follies – 7 FLSA Mistakes That Employers Often Make; Timothy J. Gallagher

Tim will be discussing seven topics under the FLSA where employers get into trouble. Tim will provide an overview of these areas of concern and recommend fixes for each area.

11:30 a.m.: Tips + Pointers on FMLA Leave; Brendan Feheley

In this interactive segment, Brendan will be discussing FMLA leave and providing the audience with helpful pointers on how to set up their FMLA leave.

Parking

Free parking is available to all guests in the Fawcett Center lot. Guests will be asked to place a parking permit in their windshield. Kegler Brown will distribute the parking permit through e-mail the week of the seminar or the pass will be available at the registration table the morning of the seminar.
