The law, among the toughest in the nation, tightens Ohio's laws for mortgage brokers, loan officers and others. The bill applies the Consumer Sales Practice Act (CSPA) to many residential lending transactions. Additionally, S.B. 185 gives the Attorney General the jurisdiction to investigate businesses involved in residential lending transactions and to enforce the CSPA against these businesses.
