1:30-2:30pm		Professionalism and UPL A view from the ODC relating to attorney and judicial behavior. The Supreme Court of Ohio’s Statement on Professionalism, Lawyer’s Creed and Lawyer’s Aspirational Ideals; cases and hypotheticals. Mr. Caligiuri

2:30-3:30pm		Ethics - New Rules of Professional Conduct Major rules changes and cases from the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline. Strategies and approaches from different sides of the disciplinary process. Mr. Weber, Ms. Khan and Mr. Stern

3:30-3:45pm		Break

3:45-4:15pm		Substance Abuse Introduction on substance abuse and its effects on the legal/general communities, including causes, prevention and treatment alternatives. Mr. Stern

Presenters

Geoffrey Stern
Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court of Ohio from 1993 to 1997. Chair, Ohio State Bar Association Committee on Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct in 1992 and 1993. Head of the professional responsibility practice area at Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter.

Christopher J. Weber
Member of the litigation, professional responsibility and construction area practices at Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter. Has tried several disciplinary cases to successful conclusions. Lead articles editor of the Toledo Law Review.

Rasheeda Z. Khan
Primarily assists clients with criminal law matters and the litigation of business matters. Member of the litigation, construction law and gaming law practices at Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter. Recipient of the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for Excellence in Advocacy.

Joseph M. Caligiuri
Participant in many ethics investigations, hearings and arguments before the Supreme Court of Ohio. Assistant Disciplinary Counsel for the Supreme Court of Ohio.
