Kegler Brown was founded fifty years ago, primarily serving the oil and gas industry. Since then, we have broadened our scope of practice to become a full-service law firm – but we’ve never strayed from our roots in the energy industry.
Today, we provide comprehensive litigation counsel to oil and gas producers, drillers, mid-stream entities and ancillary service providers, as well as public utilities and competitive gas and electricity suppliers.
To support our extensive background in oil and gas, our attorneys regularly publish articles, make presentations and have served as recognized leaders in the energy industry. In fact, the area chief of our Energy and Regulated Utilities practice spent years as general counsel for the energy distribution utility segment of a multi-state public utility holding company and six of our energy and regulated utilities attorneys have earned an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest honor given by the peer-review organization.

We support the gas and oil extraction community, providing litigation counsel to corporations, partnerships, LLCs and sole proprietorships. We have also offered representation in significant property damage claims and complex commercial litigation for some of the energy industry's most recognizable businesses.
Our energy litigation clients include:
