Legal Assistant for Government Relations Columbus

This position provides administrative and legal secretarial support for the government affairs practice area. This candidate will deal with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. The candidate will coordinate and work with others to compile and disseminate weekly legislative bulletin to area clients and prospective clients. They may also be asked to attend legislative related functions. Qualified candidates should have five years of experience as a legal secretary, two or more years of experience with the State of Ohio Legislature and/or Government and a familiarity with state and federal government, in particular the Ohio legislative and executive agency processes. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Event + Marketing Specialist

Columbus

The firm is searching for someone to work directly with attorneys to strategize and coordinate approximately 65 events annually, including internal and external seminars, meetings, conferences, briefings, webinars, etc. This responsibility includes all related logistics- planning, payment reconciliation, registrant communications, RSVPs, event technology and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to attorneys and acting as a single point of contact for implementing event and communication initiatives. Other responsibilities include coordination of the firm’s marketing efforts more generally. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field. Experience is a plus, but not required, as we will gladly provide training. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can function on a team in a deadline-based environment, has excellent oral and written skills, and demonstrates sound judgment and discretion. We’re also looking for someone who is enthusiastic, personable, well-organized and process-driven.

Content + Communication Specialist

Kegler Brown is looking for someone to compose, maintain and coordinate the firm's internal + external content and communications on all platforms, including the firm’s website, blogs, news releases, alerts, social media channels, etc. The successful candidate will also coordinate the firm’s public reputation efforts through placement of earned and firm-generated media and will need to identify opportunities for organic communications in industry publications, websites and other information resources. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field with 3 - 5 years of experience. This person must also be a self-starter who can function on a team in a deadline-based environment. Excellent oral and written skills, sound judgment and discretion are a must. We also prefer someone who is enthusiastic, personable, relationship-driven and results-oriented.
