Practice Focus

Spends most of his time practicing in the firm's business, tax and securities area, as well as its estate planning and probate area. Joined Kegler Brown in 1996 after spending two years practicing with Moore & Van Allen in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Focuses on advising clients on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, reorganizations, joint ventures and raising capital. Advises sellers and buyers as well as private equity groups sponsoring leveraged recapitalizations and reorganizations. Representative industries include manufacturing, restaurant, franchising, retail, building and construction materials, technology, advertising and marketing and professional services.

Business and Tax

Has extensive experience with a wide variety of business and income tax planning matters relating to C corporations, S corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships. Regularly represents clients with respect to business formation, shareholder agreements, complex partnership and limited company agreements and confidentiality and non-competition agreements.

Estate Planning

Focuses on advising individuals, often wealthy entrepreneurs, with respect to estate planning matters. Experience includes structuring and implementing sophisticated estate planning strategies for clients involving GRATs, dynasty trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies and family foundations.

Selected as a 2005, 2006 and 2007 "Ohio Rising Star" by Law & Politics Magazine, a publication that recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state, based on voting by individuals previously identified by the magazine as "Ohio Super Lawyers®."
